Commissions

I love creating custom commission pieces for collectors.

Together, we’ll create a one-of-a-kind painting tailored to your space and colour palette, drawing inspiration from my current or past work.

I appreciate your interest in learning more about my commission process. I offer custom paintings for both residential and commercial spaces, working directly with collectors as well as with interior designers and art consultants.

I love collaborating on commissioned pieces. After years of working in creative industries where teamwork was at the heart of everything I did, I’ve carried that same spirit into my art practice. Together, we’ll create a piece that feels personal and intentional, one that reflects your space, palette, and energy.

There are many reasons why commissioning an original painting might be the right fit. Maybe you connect with my style but need a specific size or colour palette, or perhaps a piece you loved has sold, and you’d like to capture a similar feeling in a new work.

Every painting I create is unique and made by hand. While referencing my past work helps me understand what draws you in, whether it’s the colour harmony, movement, or emotion, your commissioned piece will always have its own life and story.

Collaborating is something I deeply enjoy. Together, we’ll bring to life a painting that complements your environment, but more importantly, one that resonates with who you are and how you want to feel in your space.

FAQs

  • I'll work with you to create a one of a kind piece tailored to your vision. We begin by talking through your ideas, colours, mood, size, and any inspiration you'd like me to draw from. From there I'll send you a quote and an estimated timeline.

To book your spot, a 50% deposit gets your commission on my studio schedule. The remaining balance is due once the piece is complete, before delivery or pickup.

The painting itself usually takes 4 to 8 weeks, depending on size and my current schedule. I stay in touch throughout and may share a quick update along the way to confirm we're aligned, while leaving room for creative flow and intuition.

Each painting is completely unique, an original work made just for you.

  • Paintings take approximately 4–8 weeks to complete. If you need your artwork by a specific date, please mention it when booking so I can confirm whether it can be completed in time.

  • Framing can be provided or suggested upon request. Additional charges apply. Please mention your interest in framing during the initial discussion.

  • If you’re located in the Toronto area, you may choose to collect your painting in person or arrange for local delivery.

For larger works, paintings may be shipped rolled in a tube to reduce shipping costs. Any local framing shop can re-stretch the rolled canvas and frame your piece.

If you prefer to have your painting shipped stretched and ready to hang, we can discuss the additional shipping fee.

  • Commissioning a painting is a leap of trust, and I want you to feel good taking it. When your piece is finished, you'll see it in full before you owe the balance.

I'll bring your ideas and thoughts into the work, but I also paint something I love, which lets me stay true to myself while creating a custom piece for you. And if you don't love it, I know someone else will connect with it.

  • If you’d like to connect by video, phone, or in person to talk through your commission, you can reach me at hello@caroleboudreau.com to book a time.
